Final Graphic Design Project
My design process all started in my head for this project. I knew I wanted to have a picture of the state of Washington in my design because it is my home state and the best state in the United States of America. I thought of the idea of having a picture of nature that is from Washington to put inside the state itself. The picture I chose to be inside the state of Washington is a picture from the coast of Washington.
I had some trouble with the background, but I thought a map of Washington would be a nice look for my design. I tried changing the background to a solid color after a suggestion, but it didn’t look as good, so I kept it. the phrase that I put on my design was “Nature of Washington”, and in the first draft, it was kind of hard to read. After some suggestions from my fellow group members and my TA Leti, I changed the font size of the letters, and I put a background on it so it was more visible and wouldn’t blend in with the background as much. I also changed the colors of the font to white and made my new background for the font green for a more visible look. Other than those little changes to the font, my TA said that she didn’t have any other suggestions, so I kept it close to my original design.
I chose to do this design because I love the state of Washington and grew up here. I am also a huge fan of nature and find it extremely interesting and beautiful. Nature is a beautiful thing and I think my graphic design project can help others see it too.
I didn’t actually take these photos myself. I found one of the pictures on the website Pixabay, which is one of the websites that was given to us for us to use on this project. The other two photos I found on google images, and I made sure that they were okay to use and that I wasn’t illegally taking these photos or breaking any copyright laws. Graphic Design Project Draft 1
This graphic design was very fun to create. I was born in Yakima, Washington and grew up in the country around nature so this design reminds me how great of state I live in. I love nature and always have, so I thought it would be a cool concept to photoshop a photo of the coast of Washington into the State of Washington itself. I put a map of Washington behind it to give it a better look and to show the rivers, cities and counties of this great state.
There is a bunch of nature in Washington and we are one of the states that makes up the Pacific Northwest, which is very nature oriented. Nature is beautiful in so many ways and I hate when I see videos or photos of it being destroyed by pollution or deforestation. I have always had a soft spot for the environment and I love how beautiful and raw it is.
Nature is what makes planet earth so unique. Nature is life, and you cannot find life anywhere else in our solar system. That is what makes it so precious, and it makes me sad when I see it being destroyed. I am truly blessed that I grew up around nature and in a state that is one of the most beautiful states in the United States. They don’t call Washington “The Evergreen State” for no reason.
I did not take these pictures myself. I found one from Pixabay, one of the sites that the website guide provided. The other two pictures are from google images but I made sure that they were free to use and made sure I wasn’t breaking any copyright rules. Washington State Nature
My plan for these picture is that I am going to put the picture of the beach/nature into the outline of Washington State and then put the map of Washington State outside that but zoomed in more so you can see the names of towns and National Wildlife Reserves/Parks.

Week 3 Photoshop
Nature
The topic I have selected is nature, and I selected this topic because I have always liked nature and being outdoors. I have always had a soft spot for the plants and animals on this earth. I also want to travel the world one day and go to places like the Amazon rainforest and the great barrier reef and other eye-opening places. I plan on collecting original material by taking photos and videos of nature myself, so I won’t be stealing it from someone else. I think it will be fun taking picture of nature and Pullman is filled with nature, so I think I will do just fine finding my own content. The weather in Pullman is always changing so it will be fun taking pictures of nature in different weather conditions. I think it will also be nice because I have an automobile here in Pullman, so I can drive to cool spots and snap some good pictures and videos that other students wont be able to because they don’t have the accessibility to get to a location, but I do because I have a car.
An idea I had for the unit two logo project was to create a logo about nature and saving the environment and/or keeping the earth clean, and to put that logo on a shirt or sweatshirt. The second idea I had for the video project was to make a video about how to keep the earth clean and what others can do to help keep our environments clean. I could add a comparison between clean environments and polluted environment.

MNN is a website about mother nature and shares stories, articles and photos about nature all over the world. This website is also one of the most visited website for news about the environment around the world.
this website offers a lot of information about all kinds of nature. It offers information on the health of nature, the climate, the conservation, the pollution, and much more. It is a great website that really shows that it cares about the earth and offers information on how to help save it and keep it clean.
BBC Earth is one of, if not the biggest nature website in the world. they helped create the show Planet Earth, which is a huge hit on Netflix. It provides great photos and videos and is an all-around great source of information. ;\lsdp
